Hidden object botanical art prints combine detailed botanical line art with a secret layer of discovery. At first glance you see a beautifully composed piece — flowers, leaves, stems, and natural elements rendered in intricate detail. Look closer and you begin to find things that don’t quite belong. A tiny key tucked into a blossom. A frog perched on a stem. A rubber duck on a tire swing. Every piece rewards the patient eye and reveals something new every time you look.

Slowly. Start at one corner and let your eye travel through the composition rather than scanning quickly. The hidden elements are drawn in the same line weight as the botanical art itself, nothing is highlighted or called out. That’s intentional. The discovery is the experience.

Never. Half the joy is not knowing how many secrets are still waiting to be found. Some collectors have owned a piece for months and still discover something new. I want to keep it that way. I will say this much — sometimes in my art, Star Trek fans and stargazers may find themselves feeling very much at home. That’s all I’m saying.

Always. The same small vintage key is hidden somewhere in every single Line & Blossom Design piece — it’s my signature. Finding it is your first challenge. What it means is yours to decide. If you’d like to know why a key, the full story is waiting for you in the blog.

A few reasons, all intentional. As an artist with aphantasia — a condition where the mind produces no mental images — black and white is my natural creative language. But beyond that, line art lives in detail, contrast, and negative space. Color can pull the eye in directions the artist chooses; black and white lets you wander, which for hidden object art is exactly the point. There’s also a practical gift to you as the buyer: without a color palette to work around, you choose the mat, the frame, the wall. The art adapts to your space rather than dictating to it.

Each piece is different, but a single botanical hidden object composition typically takes several hours spread across at least 2 sessions. My botanical collages and vignettes can take over a week. The botanical line work itself is layered and detailed; then each hidden element is individually added. I allow the art to tell me where and what should be hidden. There’s no rushing it. The goal is always that a hidden friend looks like it was always meant to be there.

Giclée (zhee-KLAY) is a fine art printing process that uses museum-quality archival inks sprayed onto high-quality paper with extraordinary precision. The result is a print with exceptional detail, color accuracy, and longevity — far beyond what a standard photo printer produces. At Line & Blossom Design, the 11×14 and 16×20 bagged and backed prints are produced as true giclée prints. All smaller prints are produced using archival pigment inks on archival matte paper — the same commitment to quality and longevity, every size.

Archival means made to last. Archival paper is acid-free and designed to resist yellowing, fading, and deterioration over time. Combined with archival pigment inks, an archival print is built to remain vibrant and stable for decades when displayed and stored properly. It’s the same standard used by museums and galleries for fine art reproduction.

All prints are produced on 200gsm Enhanced Matte Art Paper — a heavyweight, acid-free archival paper with a smooth matte finish that renders fine line detail beautifully. No glare, no shine, just the art.

Possibly not exactly, and that’s worth knowing upfront. Every monitor displays color differently depending on its calibration, brightness, and age. What looks like a warm neutral on one screen may appear cooler or slightly different on another. The printed result is always the truest version of the art — produced from the original digital file with archival pigment inks calibrated for accuracy. If you have questions about a specific colorway before purchasing, feel free to reach out.

No. All prints are produced with archival pigment inks on archival matte paper, meaning they are built to resist fading and deterioration for decades under normal display conditions. Keep them away from direct sunlight and excessive humidity and they will reward you for a very long time. If longevity matters to you, framing behind UV-protective glass is always a good investment.

All prints ship with tracking. Once you place your order there is a 24-hour window during which you may cancel. After that, please allow 1-4 business days for your print to be created and prepared for shipping, every print is made to order, just for you. Budget shipping is free and please allow up to 3 weeks from your order date for delivery. If you need your order sooner, Standard, Standard Plus, and Express shipping upgrades are available at checkout. I know that’s not Amazon speed, but your print is worth the wait.

Not at this time. Line & Blossom Design ships to US addresses only. I hope to add international shipping in the future.

I want you to love what you receive. Valid reasons for a return or refund are limited to prints that arrive damaged, prints with a production defect such as poor print quality or color issues, or an incorrect item being sent. Please note that once your print is in production it has been made specifically for you, and I am unable to accept returns for a change of heart. Monitor color variation is also not a valid reason for a return — I encourage you to read the answer to “Will the colors look the same as on my screen?” before purchasing

Contact me at support@lineandblossomdesign.com within 7 days of receiving your order. Include your order number, a description of the issue, and clear photos of the damage or defect. I will review and respond within 2 business days. Please do not return anything without contacting me first.

Small prints, 8×10 and under, are printed on archival matte paper and arrive flat, ready to frame. The 11×14 and 16×20 prints arrive bagged and backed — see “What does bagged and backed mean?” below for more detail. None of my prints come pre-framed, which I consider a feature rather than a limitation. You choose the frame, the mat, and the wall. The art fits your space, not the other way around.

No. Every print ships flat and protected. I specifically researched to insure every Line & Blossom Design print would be shipped flat to prevent you from dealing with that frustration. Rolled prints can crease and are difficult to flatten, especially on heavier paper stock. I would never do that to your art.

The 11×14 and 16×20 prints arrive in a protective clear bag with a rigid backing board behind them. This keeps the print perfectly flat, protected from moisture, and safe during transit. It also means your print arrives in display-ready condition, no flattening required. Just frame it.

Each print size corresponds directly to a standard frame size, so finding a frame is straightforward. A 4×6 print needs a 4×6 frame, an 8×10 needs an 8×10 frame, and so on. Standard frame sizes are widely available in stores and online. The 8×8 is a square format, 8×8 frames are available on Amazon and many stores carry 12×12 frames with a matted 8×8 opening. If you’d like to add a mat to any print, look for a frame that includes the matted opening size you want, for example, a frame with an 8×10 matted opening is common and easy find. If you do go with a larger frame you may need to secure your print to the mat.

Not at all, I actively encourage you to be creative. Your print doesn’t have to live in an exact-fit frame. If you have a large frame you love, fill the space around a smaller print with poster board, fabric, decorative paper, or anything that speaks to your style. The result can be stunning and completely unique to your space. Check out some of my product images for inspiration, you may be surprised what’s possible.

Why am I seeing Ohio sales tax?

Sales tax is calculated based on your shipping address. Until you enter it, the cart assumes you’re in Ohio, which is where Line & Blossom Design is based. Once you enter your address the correct tax, or no tax, will be applied automatically.

Line & Blossom Design currently only collects sales tax for orders shipping to Ohio.

Aphantasia is where the mind’s eye produces no mental images. When most people close their eyes and picture an apple, they see an apple. I see nothing, only darkness. I have no visual imagination whatsoever. What that means for my art is that I work entirely from reference, memory, instinct, and the marks appearing on the screen in front of me. I can’t pre-visualize a composition or plan a color palette in my head. Every piece is discovered as it’s drawn, not planned before it begins. I came to art at 55 without knowing aphantasia had a name or that not “seeing” in your mind was the norm. It turns out it also makes for a pretty interesting brand story.

Just one. I am Leona, the artist, the designer, the shipping department, the marketing team, and the person who answers your emails. Line & Blossom Design is a one-woman operation built from scratch, by someone who had never considered herself an artist. Every piece in the shop was conceived, drawn, and brought to market by me alone. When you buy from Line & Blossom Design, you are supporting a single human who genuinely loves what she makes.

No I do not. My art develops as I draw, it is not planned out. For instance, for the piece “Fieldside After Dark” I only knew I wanted to draw a fence with some flowers. The final compositions come about as I drew. That said, if you have an idea or a dream piece in mind, feel free to reach out at Leona@lineandblossomdesign.com. I can’t promise anything, but I do love a good conversation about art and if I’m being honest, inspiration can come from anywhere. I’m always listening.

No. Adding a person’s name or special hidden elements can be near impossible for many of my pieces. If you have an idea for a special set of hidden elements feel free to reach out to me at Leona@lineandblossomdesign.com. You may be the one that adds to my almost 100 “friends”

Every piece of Line & Blossom Design art is created entirely digitally using three tools:

PlaceIt: The platform I use to create the product mockup images you see in the shop. PlaceIt allows me to present the art in real life settings so you can visualize exactly how a piece might look in your own space. placeit.net

XPPen Artist Pro 16″ (Gen 2): My drawing tablet. This is where every line originates. The XPPen gives me the precision and sensitivity to render the fine botanical detail and tiny hidden elements that make each piece what it is. xp-pen.com

Clip Studio Paint Ver. 4.0: My drawing software. A professional grade digital art application used by illustrators and comic artists worldwide. Every line, every hidden friend, every composition is built here. clipstudio.net

Yes, with a caveat! Color requests are only applicable to prints that already offer colorway variations. Prints that are black and white only — such as the Inspiration Series, Vignette Series, Tangled Garden, and Punny Prints — are not eligible for color requests.

If you have a color in mind for an eligible print, I’d love to hear it. Send your request to ideas@lineandblossomdesign.com with the title of the artwork and your color request in the subject line. In the body of your email please include the hex code for your color — and before you send, please check that hex code on a few different monitors, as colors can look quite different from screen to screen.

I can’t guarantee that every request will make it into the shop, but if I decide to add your colorway you will receive credit for the suggestion.

Yes! If you’ve thought of a great pun involving a flower, herb, or plant, please send it to ideas@lineandblossomdesign.com. Include the common name of the flower or plant, the pun itself, and a photo of the plant — since I have aphantasia and my mind’s eye is completely blank, a reference photo is the only way I can picture what you’re describing!

I do have a long running list of puns already in the works, so there’s a chance your idea is already on my radar — but please don’t let that stop you from submitting. If I use your idea, you’ll receive credit in the product description.
